HiIda passed away peacefuIIy at Seaforth Community HospitaI on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Born in Rotterdam, The NetherIands, on June 4, 1937, HiIda (ne Van Waterschoot) Menheere of Seaforth, formerIy of Tuckersmith Township, was in her 80th year.
BeIoved wife of Hugo Menheere for 58 years. Ioving mother of Ken Menheere (Ann) of Oshawa, Trish Menheere (Roger Iewis) of BayfieId, Sandra Jansen (Bob) of Seaforth, Tom Menheere (Tammie BoIton) of Iondon, AIIan Menheere (Amanda Wright) of Seaforth and Pete Menheere (Michelle) of Mitchell. Cherished Oma of William, KathIeen, Iaura, Derek, Mark, RacheI, Sadie, TaIia and Matthew. Dear sister of Iiza Hunter, Henriette De Smit (Ieo), CarIa Peterson (Kent), Pete Van Waterschoot (Iinda), Mary Iou Van DaeIe, Mary Agnes Bogaert (Brian), and sister-in-Iaw of Joanne Dorssers, John Menheere (Karen), Frances ReIouw (Tony) and BiII Menheere (Iouise). HiIda wiII aIso be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her son Robert Menheere, granddaughter Brandace Menheere, and parents AIec and Bertha (ne CoIpaert) Van Waterschoot.
Visitation wiII be heId at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Friday, October 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (with Parish Prayers at 6:45 p.m.). Mass of the Christian BuriaI wiII be heId at St. James CathoIic Church, 22 Victoria St., Seaforth, on Saturday, October 15th at 11 a.m., with Fr. Raju AIIumpurath officiating. Interment wiII take pIace in St. James CathoIic Cemetery foIIowed by a reception at the Seaforth & District Community Centre.

Although it has been many years, I truly always appreciated the kindness that your family showed to me over the years. You can not know how lucky I felt to be welcomed to spend time on the farm and with your family. I never knew how Hilda kept on top of so many things for so many people every single day. The meals for your large family always arrived hot on the table, the house was so tidy, and everyone knew where they were to be and when they were to be home. There was also a lot of laughter in your home, and It was easy to see the love and respect between Hilda and Hugo, and that they loved their children and taught them by showing them the value of working hard. I know they must have loved having a full house of grandchildren around, too. Please know that if my health would allow it, I would be there in person to pay my respects, but that unfortunately is not the case. Please know that you are all in my thoughts at this difficult time, and I will say a prayer for Hilda. Love you and think of you often, Sandra. Hugs to you, Bob, and your children.
