McKenzie, Hendrika “Rita” (Zoutman) – At LHSC – University Hospital on Saturday, July 16, 2011, of Exeter in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Robert McKenzie (1996). Dear mother of Bill and Darlene Van Bergen of Centralia, Diane and Garry Wein and Karen Adair all of Exeter. Dear grandmother of Jeremy Van Bergen and Meghan Reid and Jeff Van Bergen; Shawn Bartlett and Vicki Parsons, Stacey Bartlett and fiancé Jamie Wilcocks; and Todd Adair and Katlyn Adair and great-grandmother (Oma) of Zoee, Myles, Nicholas and Tylor. Dear sister of Arie and Bep Zoutman of Holland. Also remembered by her extended families in Holland and at home in Canada.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street (1 west of Main), Exeter, on Tuesday evening from 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 20th at 11AM with Pastor Harry Frielink officiating. Interment Exeter Cemetery.
Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
We would like to express our sympathy to the family with the passing of your mother and grandmother. May the emptiness that you experience be filled with God’s love.

Sending our deepest sympathies to your families at this sad time. It doesn’t matter how old they are or how ill it is still hard to have them go, but know the she is in a better place will help. Your mom was a good neighbour over the years and mom was sorry to have her leave the street. Keep the memories in your heart.
I have known Rita since about 1966 and she was one of the nicest people that I have ever known. She always took the time to say hello and always asked about our family and was very proud of hers. I am sure that she will be sadly missed.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom/Grandma. She was a wonderful woman and I always enjoyed our chance meetings in the grocery stores and auction sales. Always a hug, a smile and a good story to tell. Her memory will live on in all those who knew her.
