HEENAN: William (Bill) V. of Lucan

With thanks to God for a faithful life well lived, the Heenan family announce his quiet passing at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, of Lucan in his 99th year.  Born in Biddulph Township, May 5, 1918, son of Patrick Heenan and Mary (McIlhargey) Heenan. Lovingly missed by Sister Rita C.S.J., Genevieve, and Rose of Lucan, his nephews Frank and Mary Lou Heenan, Pat and Theresa Heenan, Mary and Jim Barnes, Anne and Scott Chambers, Elaine and Al Henderson.  Also missed by several great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, his sisters Sister Mary (1996), Sister Delphine (1994), and Sister Lauretta (2014), Sisters of St. Joseph – London, brothers James (1982), Zacharia (1989), and Patrick Heenan (1960).  Bill taught us by example and with passion what it means to live a faith-filled life of love and service to others.  He was an enthusiastic farmer and a lover of music, singing, and nature.

Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.  Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 1:45 PM.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 32922 Richmond Street, Lucan on Saturday, August 20th at 11 AM with Father Ross Bartley presiding.  Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Lucan.

Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Sorry for your lost of a dear Brother Bill . It hard to loss a member of your family at any time. I always enjoyed my visits with Bill when I delivered oil to the farm. Bill always had that Irish way of asking 2 or 3 questions & find our about the family far & wide. God blessed him with sisters that could take care of him in the last 2 or 3 years. The last time I saw him was at Sister Laurettas funeral & he needed a lot of help then to get around. God rest is sole. I am sorry I cannot join the celebration because I am still recovering from hip surgery. God bless all the Heenan family at this time of sorrow . Joe & Marilyn Dewan London ON
