HAUGH: Lorne Henry of Exeter

Peacefully at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Monday, April 1, 2019, Lorne Haugh of Exeter at the age of 90. Cherished husband of Phyllis (Taylor) Haugh for 68 years. Loving father of Larry and Lorie Haugh of London. Grandfather of Mallory Craigmile, and Lauren Craigmile and Tony Renda. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Joyce and Mike Burke of Brampton. Predeceased by his parents Milton and Clara (Weigand) Haugh, and his brother and sister-in-law Ross and Irene Haugh. A special thanks to the staff at South Huron Hospital for their excellent care.

A celebration of life will be held at the Exeter Lions Youth Centre, 125 John Street West, Exeter on Sunday, April 7th from 1 – 4 PM. There will be a Lions Service held at 2 PM. Private family interment Exeter Cemetery.

Donations to Parkinson Society, South Huron Hospital Foundation,  Exeter Lions Club or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

    Phyllis and family: My deepest sympathy to you and your family on the death of Lorne. He was the custodian at the Lion’s Youth Center when I first met him. He would visit with the staff members when he came over to clean. We looked forward to his visits and company. He always had a smile and a story to tell us. He will be missed by your family and the community. Know others are thinking of you at this sad time.

It was Lorne who welcomed me and our family to the community back in 1965. He gave me the opportunity to grow my hockey game and eventually my personal growth over the years.     I echo many of the comments that have already been left here… Lorne was a really great guy and what a wonderful legacy that is to leave behind. It was always nice catching up with him at the Weigand Reunion, each year. I can’t think of a time when chatting with him, ever, when the glass wasn’t half-full. He had a positive outlook on things. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

    Phyllis and Family – so sorry to hear about the loss of Lorne. There couldn’t be a better man. We had so many great times together over the years – the onion patch, camping, our trip East, the lake, making ice cream, many many New Years celebrations , cards, wahoo and lots of laughter. That’s what a good life is made of and he was always in the midst of it all. I’m so glad we had time for a chat this winter. We won’t ever forget him.

Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
