Peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital, on Sunday, April 8, 2018, Jane passed away in her 77th year with family by her side. Beloved wife of Jack Harvey for 56 years. Loving mother of Cheryl & Erich Freiter of Dashwood. Cherished grandma of Byron Freiter of CFB Comox, B.C. & Shara Johnson of Victoria, and Katelyn Freiter & Mike McClure of Seaforth. Jane will be surely missed by her furry best friend Ruby. Loving sister and sister-in-law of Joan & Ken Campbell of Seaforth, Lois Ann & Maurice Wathke of Kitchener, and Linda & Eric Ross of London.
Also missed by Bob & Debbie Harvey of Guelph, and Bill & Marlene Harvey of Kitchener.
Jane will be missed by several nieces, nephews, extended family and her great-nephew Logan. Predeceased by her parents Archie (1997) and Cora (2005) Somerville, and her niece Kim Campbell (2005).
After graduating from Seaforth District High School in 1959, at the age of 17, she and her cousin Barb left Seaforth to begin her 38 year nursing career in Exeter. After a short 3 month retirement rest, she found a need to continue her passion by helping others through Town and Country home care services, which later amalgamated and became known as One Care. She worked with One Care until March 1, 2018, having a 21 year career in personal home care. Jane’s greatest enjoyments were family gatherings, engaging and socializing at the cottage in Bayfield, or at the Freiter Farm in Dashwood.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, Exeter on Friday from 4-7 PM where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 14th at 11 AM. Cremation with interment, Exeter Cemetery.
Donations to South Huron Hospital Foundation, One Care, or The Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).
