HARTMAN: Michael Joseph of London, formerly of Bayfield

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his soul mate and loving family at LHSC – University Hospital on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the age of 84. Cherished husband of Yvonne (Denomme) for 64 blessed years. Proud father of Lori and Hugh Pearson, Lynn Marie and Mike Finney, the late Jeffrey Hartman (1966 – 1972) and, Jonathan and Nalini Lyn Hartman. Adored Grandpa of Nicholas, Brooke, Jeffrey, Michael and Ashley, Ginny, Tyler, Katie, Cole, Luke, Chris and Kathryn, and Kayla. Fun Loving Great Grandfather of Kyrie, Ruby, Carter, Oliver and Elzada. Dear brother and brother in law of the late Cecelia (Louis) Farwell, the late Victor (Irene) Hartman, Lawrence (Mary) Hartman, the late Jean (Greg) Fleming, the late Ray (Janice) Hartman, the late Richard (Cecile) Hartman, Cyrille (Anne) Hartman, the late Gerald (Rita) Hartman, Robert (Joanne) Hartman, the late Ambrose Denomme, the late Benjamin (Lillian) Denomme, the late Clemence “Blackie” (Geraldine “Red”) Denomme, the late Lucienne “Lou” (Eldon) Denomme, Joseph (Marlene) Denomme, the late Albert (Marion) Denomme, the late Leo Denomme, George “Kizan“ (Annette) Denomme, Peter (Gisele) Denomme, Tillie (Henry “Darl”) Rau, and the late Anthony Denomme. Also predeceased by his parents Therese and Kuno Hartman and his in-laws Juliette and Armand Denomme. Loved dearly by many Godchildren, nieces and nephews.

Michael spent his career in banking from being a teller to a Senior Executive with the Bank of Nova Scotia across Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba. He was always involved in the communities in which he lived which included participation in his local Churches, the Knights of Columbus (4th degree member), the Rotary Club and his local residential association. After retirement, Michael and Yvonne moved to Bayfield, where he enjoyed organic farming. Throughout his life, Michael was guided by his love of family, his deep faith and his capacity for unconditional love.

The family wants to express their extreme gratitude to all of the staff at London University Hospital who provided such amazing care to Michael and who supported our family with compassion, humanity and loving care.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home 456 Main Street, Exeter on Wednesday, November 20th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM, with prayers starting at 5:45PM.

Mike’s memorial mass will be held the following day at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, 22 Mary Street, Zurich on Thursday, November 21st at 11 am with visitation starting an hour prior. Cremation has taken place. Interment at St. Boniface Cemetery.
