Passed away peacefully surrounded by love after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at the age of 63. Loving best friend and partner of Kim (Rau) McCann. Proud dad of Jordan Hallman and step-dad of Troy McCann (Lianne), Paige McCann (Scott), and Sadie McCann (Chad). Adored Poppa of Olivia, Camryn, Brees, Hayes, and Bowen. Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Annette and Kevin Williamson, Diane Ernteman (Bob David), Brenda and Ron McDonald, Sherri and Steve Harrison, Joe Rau and the late Carolyn Rau, Derek and Tammy Rau, and Shawn and Cathy Rau. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and his aunt Eleanor Hunt. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Elaine (Plauntz) Hallman, mother and father-in-law Patsy and Tony Rau and several aunts and uncles.
Mark’s love for forestry and logging began as a teenager when he started working in the mill in the New Dundee area. This led him to a successful and proud career, owning Timberland Resources Inc. Over the past 15 years, he also dedicated time as a Real Estate Agent and has helped many people find their dream home. Mark’s witty sense of humour, loving, kind and generous personality landed him with friends from all over. In his spare time, he loved to travel and cruised many times over the years. Above all, he cherished time surrounded by his family and loved when everyone was together.
Keeping with Mark’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, St. Joseph.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Mark grew up as a neighbour and frequent visitor in our home. He was fun loving, gregarious and generous. I particularly remember him joining our family on a spring break camping trip to Florida – my parents and 5 teenagers, a station wagon, tent trailer, pup tent and Mark’s brand new Z28 Camaro . What fun we had!! My condolences to his family. May he Rest in Peace 🙏
