Hard to add anything to the expressions of the sincere respect she earned from her many friends in Huron County. She was always a warm host when Maureen and I squatted at the Fuller home during deer season. She and Maureen talked a lot even when they were both near the end. She must have liked M because she entrusted her baby boy to us when he moved to Toronto for George Brown.

My fondest memory is the night I took her for a fancy Thai dinner in Toronto during the Good Roads convention – this was back when there were only two (yes 2) Thai places in the City. She was so excited to try something new and when we got got back to the Huron County suite she had to tell everyone about her great dinner.

My worst memory is when she twisted my arm to be the bride in a mock Hillbilly wedding. NO ONE other that Lossy could have pulled that off. She was a force of nature and will never be forgotten by those that knew her.

    Fond memories only
    Peter Smith

Dear Launa, Gail, Cathy, Jeff and families:
I am so very saddened by the loss of your mom. I had the pleasure of being at your “old” house on Marlborough Street in the 60’s for hours on end. Your mom was always so welcoming and kind.
Coming into the house on a cookie baking day was awesome! The kitchen counters were covered in cookies that were cooling.
I moved away, but did read about your mom’s accomplishments within the Exeter community.
Your mom was loved by many people.
May your memories bring you comfort.

    To Lossy’s Family,
It feels like yesterday that Lossy called me and asked me if I would meet her at the Blue Water Rest Home so that I could sit with her, while she sat with my mother, and read my mother a letter she had written to her to say goodbye. She hoped she was not too late. She wasn’t and we did. There are truly no words to express how much Lossy meant to our mother and in turn our family. Whether it be at Lioness, The Town of Exeter, or their travels to Caribbean in their retirement years, these women forged a great friendship and through my mother I came to know an incredible woman. I feel so fortunate to have had my life intertwine with hers. I am so truly sorry for your loss of Lossy.

Dear Fuller Family, I just heard about your mums passing today. Christmas day off all days to leave us I know it was her very favourite. I remember reading the book she had printed a couple of years back that was to be read yearly to her family and grand children so so sweet and thoughtful. Lossy was a wonderful freind to me for many years and your dad. They both came to our cottage and I had great memories with them and my husband Larry. She was a piller off strength to me when he passed and I loved having her across the road from me on Redford. I still look over at night to see if her light is shinning and it always will for me. Im in Florida for the Winter but Im so so sad for your loss. Again she was a wonderful freind I love you Lossy rest in peace my friend. Love always Joyce Eveland.

Our greatest memories with Lossy were at the Pinery at Thanksgiving. She was known as our “Thanksgiving mom”.
