FIRTH: David George Scott of Huron Park, formerly of Alberta

April 6, 2021 By Haskett Funeral Homes 29 Condolences

FIRTH: David George Scott of Huron Park, formerly of Alberta

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David Firth at the young age of 62. After a strong battle against Covid-19, Dave passed away peacefully at LHSC – Victoria Hospital, with his family by his side on Sunday, April 4, 2021.

Cherished father of Angela and Justin Fields, Corey Firth and Ashley Gallagher. Proud grandpa Dave of Hayley Fields. Deeply missed by his beloved dog, Roxette. A wonderful brother of Karen and her husband Brian Warner. Adored uncle of Andrew and Tooba and Lindsey. Fondly remembered by his aunt SheShe, aunt Margie, and cousins Butch, Jenn and their families. Predeceased by his parents John and Patricia (Wilson) Firth.

Dave was born and raised in Pointe Claire, Quebec. While on his journey in life, Dave touched the lives of many while residing throughout parts of Canada. Most notably Alberta and Ontario. Dave lived his life to the fullest. If he wasn’t with his family and friends holding a cold Bud Light, he could be found riding his Harley or traveling the countryside as a proud long-haul truck driver.

Keeping with Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A time to celebrate his life and enjoy a cold BL will be held at a later date, when family and friends can safely gather together to share in a story and a laugh. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter (519-235-1220).

Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Dave are asked to consider the LHSF-Covid 19 Response Fund or the Karnak Shriners in Montreal, QC.

The family wishes to offer their sincere appreciation to all the Doctors, nurses and staff in the CCTC at LHSC and those in the ICU at Stratford General Hospital.

Dave was a longhaul driver of mine at Hyndman Transport. He was a great guy, and always had a positive attitude. He moved to Huron Park, and told me he was grateful for being close to his Family. This came as a shock for me, as we planned to get together at some point for a pint. Dave will be greatly missed , and i would like to send my heart felt condolences to his family and friends.

So sorry to hear about Dave’s passing. I remember the good times at U.N.B, , and being best man at our wedding and making sure he carried out his pre wedding duties so we all had a good time. We then were fortunate to spend some time with him when we moved to Edmonton from High Level. We were able to visit him in St. Paul when he transferred there with the bank. Unfortunately, as time goes by and family and work take over I tend to lost touch with Dave, although Jana did stay in touch.

Our condolences to you and your family.

I just found out today. Have down memory lane today of all the dump dinners, the hide and seek on horseback, Dave coming to recuse Brian and I when our truck broke down. There was so many memories that remind of our young and fun days. All the fun times with Micheal Marsha Angela and Cory on the farm. He was Mike’s and Marsha’s daddy Dave forever. All the movie Friday nights and playing Nintendo and sega game nights.

Dave was an amazing neighbor and friend, we got to know each other when he lived in Ardmore Alberta and me and my wife at the time lived in a house that shared property with him living in the other house. He was always friendly and I shared many bud lights after a hard day of work by both of us. When our son Onyx was born and we brought him home Dave was one of the first to see him and came baring gifts for Onyx. He will always be remembered as a great friend! My sincere condolences to his family in this tough time. He will be missed.
