Sending love and condolences to all of you. Jim was such a nice man – I will fondly remember him during my childhood and time in ringette – his patience and kindness were so important to a young girl. I’m also reminded of his and Marion’s visit to Walt Disney World while I was working there. I’ll never forget Marion telling me about their experience on the Tower of Terror, not knowing what they were in for! Thanks to Jim and hugs to the family during this time – Brittney Hendriks

Jimmy was always an inspiration to me. When I got to know him on the Seaforth Fire Department, his good nature, humour and genuinely energy he gave off was so endearing. He was ALWAYS one of my favourite guys on the department and people I just wanted to be around. I was not able to make the funeral, however please except my condolences and know your family are in our prayers.

    December 21, 2022 at 11:30 AM

The Kleinhaar family would like to extend their condolences to the Finlayson family with the passing of Jim. My brother John and I went to SS#9 Tuckersmith with Jim and his siblings; in fact John was in the same grade as Jim. Our paths never crossed after we left high school in Seaforth and Clinton, even though John has lived in Kincardine for 40+ years and I am 20km east of Exeter for the same number of years. When we talk about our childhood days the Finlayson family is fondly remembered. Our parents even bought Jim’s parents’ farm on the 4th line. We treasure the memories!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. When I moved to Seaforth in 1965, Jim was my first friend when he stopped to give me a ride into town my first Saturday night. We never got out of the car , but drove up and down the main street, pulling doughnuts in the lot by the tracks. A new experience for me coming from Toronto area. He introduced me to Seaforth with his big grin and easy going ways.
