It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their dear wife, mom, and oma at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Thursday, December 28, 2017. Undoubtedly, she was happy that last day, surrounded by family, and enjoying some chocolate treats with her lifelong companion. She was in her 90th year. Corrie was born in Den Hague, Holland and immigrated to Canada in 1952 at the age of 24. She is the beloved wife of Gerardus “Gerry” Duynisveld for 61 years. The two of them established a thriving farm business together outside of Ilderton and began a large family of their own. Cherished mom of Leonard and Harriet (Dortmans) Duynisveld of Ilderton, Helen and Jim Christie of Tara, Margaret and Peter Brain of Grand Bend, Mary Ann Duynisveld and Peter McMullen of Sudbury, Gene Jones of Sault Ste. Marie, and Connie Fuller of London. Loving Oma of Krista (Craig) Hulshof, Janice (Paul) Duynisveld, Anthony Duynisveld, Jerry (Julia) Duynisveld; Jennifer, Mike (Jenn), and Trevor Christie; Duncan, and Martha Brain; Logan Jones; Corben, Gradon, and Jack Fuller. Great grandmother of Leah, Kamryn, Alivia, Aria, Theo and John Luke. Dear sister of John Al, Tiny Wessels, Helen and John Ryan, Bart Al, Hank and Cheryl Al, Joe and Jaquie Al, Tony and Vera Al and sister-in-law of Elaine Al, Margaret Al, and Sharon Wingenbach. Predeceased by her parents Cornelius and Helena Al, siblings Cornelius and Corrie Al, Chris Al, Anna and Jerome Dietrich, Leo Al, Nick Al, and Peter Al, brother-in-law Anton Wessels, and sister-in-law Lenore Al.
Corrie was a loved sister-in-law to the Duynisveld family; Lenie and John Roks, Cathy Flegel, Bill and Elsie Duynisveld, Len and Linda Duynisveld, and Joe Swinkels. Predeceased by Paul and Truus Duynisveld, Corrie and John Vandeloo, Kees and Bernice Duynisveld, Bill Flegel, and Margaret Swinkels. She will also be be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Strathmere Lodge and Seasons for all their support and kindness this past year.
Friends and relatives may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Friday, January 5, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 3:45 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church, 32922 Richmond Street, Lucan on Saturday January 6, 2017 at 11 AM. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Lucan.
If family/friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, St. Patrick Church or a charity of their choice.
