Please accept our most sincere condolences on the passing of your dear wife and Mother. She was so special to me and I feel blessed to have had the privilage of getting to know her over these past years. It is safe to say that over the 10 years that she was a VON volunteer she spent hundreds of hours supporting families who were suffering with life threatening illnesses and I know that her presence offered unconditional care and support. Please know that we will continue to keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Having “been there and done that”, I know how much pain your hearts are feeling at the present time. Mine is with you. However, I can say with assurance that time is a great healer and “this, too, will pass”.
Not much consolation at the present time, I know, but I just wanted you to know you are not alone. I will forever regret that Dorothy and I had some “unfinished business” over such a silly thing as a beef heart but that is indicative of the many silly things we shared in life.
Dorothy was a great friend and supporter for me, as she was for many people, and she certainly made a big difference in many people’s lives–both personally and professionally.

It is with such sorrow that I read this. Jim, Cheryl, Susan, Paul and Chris I am so deeply sorry for you all. Your mom was amazing. Filled with light, love and warmth. Even though I know she is in a peaceful and wonderful place now- my heart aches at the loss of her in the world. All I can say is that she is so much a part of you all that her beautiful presence will always be here. And the world is a better place for it. With all my love.

Dorothy will be remembered with affection and memories of so many good times including her hospitality – one that comes to mind immediately is laughing continuously on a boat ride, wanting to ‘shut out’ loud talking of an annoying passenger – thinking of Dorothy brings thoughts of love and caring. We recently spent a lovely Spring morning visiting with you folks. We sat in the sunshine together enjoying the activities of the birds at the feeders and an elusive White Squirrel playing in the trees.Sue tried to entice the squirrels with a ready supply of peanutbutter and nuts, while Chris served High Tea and cookies. Dorothy basked in the rhthym of family life. Dorothy’s sense of humor and love of family was evident that morning. A great memory. We’ve heard stories about Dorothy’s fun-side; including bells on beds, and eyeballs in bathroom doors. A trait she playfully passed on to some of her children. You are blessed to have over 56 years of memories to share with each other as you remember and celebrate Dorothy’s earthly life. We share the sorrow of your loss and the joy found in the memories of a life well lived.
