Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at University Hospital on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 of Lucan at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Alice (Paquette) Dobbie for over 45 years. Proud Dad of Terri Anne and Steve Moses, Ben and Wendy Dobbie, Joe and Jenna Dobbie, and Denise and Chad Morrison. Adored and loving Grandpa of Olivia, Eva; Elizabeth, Emily, Leah; Jaelyn, Jody, Jocelyn, Jenae; James, Maeve, and Lucas. Brother of John and Carol Anne, Bill and Joan, and Judy and Pat. Brother-in-law of Pat and Irvin, and Terry and Connie. Predeceased by his parents John and Dorothy Dobbie, and his much-loved dog, Mollie.
Bob was a devoted sports Dad and an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. He especially enjoyed the many trips with his kids and grandkids to various ice rinks and ball diamonds across the countryside. Bob worked for the Ministry of Transportation for many years. Above all, he was a very proud Grandpa, adoring all his grandkids. Bob took pride in looking after the family pool and loved welcoming everyone each summer; his family will forever remember the many memories made there and the toonies he always had in his pockets for his grandkids.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the Lucan Community Memorial Centre (the new hall), 263 Main Street, LUCAN on Saturday, December 23rd between 2 and 4 PM. Please dress casual, including your favourite sports shirt/jersey!
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lucan Minor Hockey Association or Ailsa Craig and Area Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).
