I am sharing condolences on behalf of myself and my siblings, the children of Dan & Sharon Prendergast – Erin, Kelly, Dan and Ryan. Joe Dewan was our cousin. We have many wonderful memories of Joe from visits in southwestern Ontario over the years and at Aunt Helen’s Invitation every summer on the Ridgeway near Grand Bend. Our father Dan Prendergast was incredibly fond of Joe and all the Dewan kids (his beloved nephews and nieces). Please relay our sincere condolences to the Dewan family and let everyone know we are thinking of them. Apologies for this late message, we just recently heard the news. Thank you, best regards, Erin Prendergast
Dear Marilyn and family,
We have just learned of Joe’s death and we want to express our sincere sympathies to all of you.
Joe and I have been friends for many years, and I admired his courage and his strong devotion to his Catholic faith. He told me some months ago that he did not have long to live, and he faced that situation gracefully and courageously. We will miss seeing him at mass and sharing many a good laugh. He was a good and decent man in so many ways.
You are all in our prayers at this difficult time.
Rest in peace Joe.
Evelyn and Pat O’Brien, M.P. [Ret.]
So sorry for your loss Aunt Marilyn. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
