Posted By Haskett Funeral Homes On November 21, 2022 @ 2:54 PM In Lucan,Obituary | 44 Comments
With family by his side at University Hospital, London on November 19, 2022 of Lucan and formerly of London at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Ruth ann Curtis (Barker) for 62 years. Proud loving father of Kenneth & Karen Curtis, Robert Curtis & Judie Betterley, Pam & Wayne Hall, and Cathleen & Chris Hanington. Grandpa of Stephanie Moore (Andrew), Jason Curtis (Cher), Ashley Curtis (Brad), Sean Curtis (Becky), Charlotte Hanington, and Oliver Hanington and great grandpa of Logan, Jocelyn & Gavin; and Indiana. Survived by brother Doug Curtis (Janet), sister Judy Beardwood (Ted); and brother-in-law Gordon Barker & Rose Miller. Predeceased by parents Jean (Hornick) and Chesley Curtis, sister Donna Leinweber, and brother-in-law Marvin Tuttle (Shirley).
Jim brought his family to Lucan and built a home in 1970. Many happy memories were made. Jim helped all of his family with any project they were working on. If something needed fixing he was there. Jim really enjoyed his motorcycle and took many trips with Ruth ann over the years. Sometime after they stopped travelling by motorcycle, Jim bought a travel trailer and parked it in Florida for the winters. He would come home every spring with the best tan. He would have loved to be back in Florida one more time. He will be sadly missed.
In keeping with Jim’s wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
