Peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, November 13, 2015 Fred Cook of Granton passed away in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Jean (Marshall) Cook for 59 years. Dear father of Brenda and Gerald Lenders, Denfield, Dale Cook and Linda Mills, Granton, Dianne and Frank Dietrich, Lucan, Ray and Lauren Cook, Ilderton. Dear grandfather of Mike and Becky Lenders, Mark Lenders, and Reid Lenders; Jason and Amy Cook, Katie Cook; Scott and Jenny Dietrich, Paul Dietrich; and Krista Cook, Kevin Cook, and Alex Cook. Proud great-grandfather of David and Peyton Cook and predeceased infant Amelia. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Lillus Riddell and Fred Lewis of Granton, Ruth Cook of Granton, and Norma Marshall of Bryanston. Predeceased by his parents William and Irene Cook, and sisters, brothers, and in-laws Reta and Harry Hughes, Edith and Harold Hardie, Shirley and Max Bilyea, Cliff Cook, Billy Cook, Jim Riddell, Stan Marshall, and Barb and Doug Davidson. Fred was a proud, life-long farmer in Biddulph Township.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM, where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 17th at 11 AM with Pastor Paul Vollick officiating. Interment Granton Cemetery.
Donations to the Villages United Church (formerly Granton-Wesley) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Thinking of you today. So sorry for your loss. I loved going to the .farm with Dianne. Fred had a warm smile and a twinkle in his eye! For breakfast, after milking the cows, he would bring the fresh warm milk with the cream still at the top of the bottle for my cereal and laugh when I declined his offer to share this treat! Memories are a wonderful gift to celebrate your dad’s life.

Although I never met Frederick, I do know of his great family and his grandchild Katie who is a dear friend of mine. She spoke very highly of him as she does about all of you. Please accept my sincere sympathy on the death of Fred. I think I haven’t seen Fred since the death of my dad Leo Morkin. No doubt Jean you and he were some of the best farmers in Biddulph. He would have learned his skill of repairing things have his dad. I remember being with my dad when Bill was welding equipment for us.
