Condolence From: Jim and Mary Lou Hyde
Thinking of each of you as another sad anniversary approaches. Your parents were such special neighbours and friends to us when you were all little and growing up with our girls. Keep those special memories close.

Condolence From: Lisa, Derrick, Kayleb, Mady and Seth Brown
We are so very sorry to hear of the loss of Doug. He was such a kind, hospitable and loving person/neighbour. He always had a way about him that made you smile and you feel honoured that you knew him. His marriage to Pat was a true love story that was not only inspirational to a young family but beautiful to watch from a far. We will forever remember them walking side by side down our street taking Cookie for a walk. He will be greatly missed by many.

    Condolence From: Trisha Murray
As far as uncles go, Doug was a ‘great’ one. He was supportive, funny and loving. I always felt welcomed by both Doug and Pat when I visited for a day or a week. I loved the way Doug would take the hand of my young son and lead him off to some grand adventure (checking out the damage from a storm, touring the camper, or checking out the diggers working on the street). He will be’greatly’ missed by my family.
My heart is with you all. Love Trisha

Condolence From: Bill and Donna Jeffery
Dear Beth, Kathy, Jennifer and Peter — We are sorry not to be able to attend the Saturday service to celebrate Doug’s life. We have fond memories of the kind, good-natured, hospitable man that he was, and of the many enjoyable times we had visiting back at the house. We wish that we could be with all of you and your families and share stories of Doug with each of you personally. Thinking of you, now and through the next several days. Take good care of yourselves, and God bless. Love and hugs to you.
    Bill and Donna Jeffery

Sorry to hear about Doug. My condolences to the family. He was a wonderful, gracious man and he will be sadly missed.

Condolence From: Jim and Mary Lou Hyde
We were saddened to learn of Doug leaving you, and us, but in our hearts we know he will be happy to be with his beloved Pat once again. You were all like part of our extended family and we remember many fun times when our girls were growing up across the street from you. We cherish the paintings your mom did of Lisa and Jacqueline, and are still amazed at how quickly she sketched them, and then did them in oil. Your dad called us to come for a drink and presented them to us and laughed at the looks of astonishment on our faces. So many good memories and we will hold them dear. We are sorry we are, once again, out of country and unable to attend Doug’s service, but know we will be thinking of you. Jim and Mary Lou

    Condolence From: Arlene [Chipchase] Styles
Beth, Kathy, Jenny & Peter – My most sincere sympathies to all of you & your families. I have often thought of you & your Mom & Dad from our ‘younger’ days…all the great times we had together…know that they are once again together & enjoying each other. Love to you all……Arlene

Condolence From: Larry & Evelyn Elder
It is with immense sadness that we learn of Dougs’ passing and extend our heartfelt and deepest sympathies to the entire family. Although understandably regrettable that his final days had to be so difficult,it brings some measure of peace to our hearts to think of Doug and Pat walking and holding hands once more, as So often they would be seen in the community. Their love for each other and family was a remarkable rose of inspiration. Our families were linked over the years in many ways and by many memorable moments together, and it is always with great fondness that we remember those times. Doug was a true gentleman in nature and word, with a keen insight and pervasive sense of humour, compassion and intelligence. We know that his presence in your lives, as well as Pats’ presence, will be keenly missed. Our sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers at this most sorrowful time.

    Condolence From: Dianne Gerstenkorn Weber
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Remember those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day. Uneen, unheard but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear. Dianne, Linda and Steven
