COLEMAN: Betty Ann (Patterson) of Seaforth

Passed away at Alexandra Marine & General Hospital with her family by her side on September 20, 2021 at the age of 85.  Beloved wife of John Coleman for 37 years and the late Donald Seymour. Cherished mother of Cheryl and Paul Kruse, Stephen and Sandy Seymour, Bill and Lynn Seymour, and Robin and Darlene Seymour. Adored grandma of 8 and great nana of 6. Sister of Murial Davidson, Phyllis and Laverne Pembleton, and Keith and Connie Patterson. Sister-in-law of Joan Cleave, Allen Coleman, Arlene Knowles, and Barbara Farquhar. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Larry Seymour, sister Donna Shuttleworth, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law Norm Davidson, Don Coleman, Margaret Scott and parents Bert and Gladys (Parker) Patterson.

Betty grew up in Camlachie, ON and attended high school nearby at Forest High School. Following secondary school, she went to Business College in London, ON. Using her knowledge Betty worked at the Seaforth Hospital as the accountant for 32 years and finished her career there. Betty was very involved in the community throughout the years and joined many clubs including the Red Hats, and Seaforth Lionesses. In her free time Betty enjoyed camping at Shelter Valley and made many long-time friends over the years. She also enjoyed knitting, bowling and spending time with friends. Betty will be fondly remembered for kindness to others and positive outlook on life.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Alexandra Marine & General Hospital and Goderich Place Retirement Residence for the exceptional care and compassion they showed to Betty over the years.

A private family funeral service will take place on Monday, September 27th at Haskett Funeral Homes, Seaforth. Interment Harpurhey Cemetery.

Donations to the Alexandra Marine & General Hospital a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

    Rest In Peace Betty…..One of my most vivid memories of Betty was her working at the Seaforth Hospital. When I started there ( a few moons ago) she was on her game and knew that place inside and out. Quite frankly I was more than a little scared of her! As the years went by, I got to know her only to find she was a gentle and kind soul! Glad I had the chance to get to know her better…..Deepest sympathy to her family. Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
