Passed away peacefully at Huron Residential Hospice, with his family by his side on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Beloved husband and best friend of Debbie (McLaughlin) Colbourne for 33 years. Cherished father of Michael Colbourne and to his fur babies Gracie, Charlie, and Pebbles and fur baby papa of Kylo, Maia, Zoe, and Oliver. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Marlene and Charlie Blair, and Cindy and John Jones. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister and brother’s in-laws Ann and Bob Putman, and Michael McLaughlin and his parents Norman and Madeline (Hornick) Colbourne and in-laws Joe and Helen (Ward) McLaughlin.
Dave greatly enjoyed music, food and football. Throughout his life music was a big part of who Dave was, even making his own CD! Weekly Swiss Chalet runs with Debbie will always be greatly cherished and his love and enthusiasm for his new black truck will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all of the nurses at Huron Hospice and the Seaforth Community Hospital, and to Dr. Heather Percival who has been with them since the beginning.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, SEAFORTH on Tuesday, August 22nd from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM. Registration is appreciated. Please click “Register Now” below to register.
Dave’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 23rd at 2 PM with visitation starting an hour prior. Interment at St. James Cemetery, Seaforth. Registration is not required to attend the service. For those unable to attend the service, you are welcome to stream the service live or at your convenience by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh.
Donations to Huron Residential Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).
