CLARKE: Angela (Donaghy), formerly of Lucan

April 19, 2024 By Haskett Funeral Homes 96 Condolences

CLARKE: Angela (Donaghy), formerly of Lucan

Passed away peacefully at Highview Residences, London on Thursday, April 18, 2024 formerly of Lucan at the age 87. Beloved wife of the late Patrick Clarke (2016). Proud mom of Martin and Jo Anne Clarke, Anthony and Victoria Clarke, the late Philip and Marianne Clarke, and Mary and James Black. Adored grandma of Laura (Kevin), Ryan (Austin); Max (Dani), Grace, Clare; Emma (Quin), Hannah, Patrick; Seamus, and Arabella and great-grandma of Clarke, Nolan, Lillian, and Zoe. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Rose (Conway) Donaghy.

Angela had a positive outlook on life and always believed that things could be better.  She volunteered continually throughout her life to make this happen.  Whether with the CWL, Helping Hands with Nora Elson and eventually Jackie Wells at VON, leading exercise classes at the Mount or Sanlan Trailer Park in Florida, CARP, the Canadian Cancer Society or any funeral that needed a smiling face and a strong back, Angela was there.  Her favorite volunteer job was babysitting her grandchildren.  The world lost a hard working volunteer today.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Monday evening from 7 – 9 PM.

Angela’s Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 32922 Richmond Street, LUCAN on Tuesday, April 23rd at 11 AM with Father Steve Wlusek presiding. Cremation with interment St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Lucan. Stream the service live or at your convenience by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh

Donations to Lung Cancer Canada would be appreciated by the family.

    My prayerful condolences Martin & Jo Ann, Anthony & Victoria, Marianne, Mary & James and all your families as you grieve the death of your, mom, mother-in-law, grandma and great grandma. I have many fond memories which I am treasuring – especially those gifted years of working in Clarke’s Variety & Gas Bar [1971-1977] for which I am extremely grateful for. Glory be to God for the influence of Angela and Patrick’s dedication and Christian witness. What a gifted loving couple, an incredible gifted TEAM and certainly together each achieved more. I am grateful for Angela’s joy, smile, laughter, faith, self-giving service, love, energy, trust, and humbly witnessing to be a woman of the Beatitudes (Matthew 5). Thank you, God for Angela! I have celebrated a Mass for the Repose of Angela’s soul, and I am holding all of you in my prayers as you grieve, while holding and treasuring the loving memories with gratitude. May Angela, a woman of hope through the mercies of God be welcomed into the light of our Lord’s face, and hear the welcome words of Jesus, well done good and faithful servant. (Matthew 25:23) May the great ‘cloud of witnesses’ (Hebrews 12:1) including Patrick, Philip, Rose, Joe, Tony and all the other Donaghy and Clarke clan give the rejoicing welcome of the Easter promises and may all Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory. Alleluia!

    Martin, Jo Anne, and Family;

    We are sending our deepest condolences to you all on the loss of your mother/ mother-in-law. I remember Angela at Clarke’s Variety Store when I was young, and I just loved her accent – I always asked my mom if it was English or Scottish?
    She was so kind and friendly – where Patrick was the funny gentleman. My mom Kathy recalls the women’s bowling league – that her and Angela played in.
    She was a kind lady and always knew everyone’s name and story. Cherish the memories you have made with her.

    We have lost a beautiful person as we say farewell to Angela Clarke. She exemplified volunteerism. She just wanted to do what she could to make a difference in the quality of the lives of others. Never looking for a reward other than showing her love for others. How fitting that her life on earth ended during National Volunteer Week. Her name brings a smile to my face. She was a remarkable lady & she brought smiles to countless others. A life well lived.
