Condolence From: Chris Fackrell, Met Set
The Met Set is a mature singles group at Metropolitan United Church in London. Ruby used to attend the weekly hospitality meal put on by Metropolitan and then sometimes come upstairs to have dessert with the Met Set and stay for the meeting. We enjoyed having her and especially remember when we had a hairdresser as a speaker. This lady shampooed, cut and set Ruby’s hair and then went home to get some new clothing for her to wear. Ruby really appreciated it and looked so nice. We will miss her at Metropolitan.
Chris Fackrell, Secretary of The Met Set

    Condolence From: John Williams
Ruby was a friend of mine, and I heard that she was a top-notch secretary at the Westminster Hospital, I believe. Ruby was very knowledgeable about current affairs and anything going on in the city. She will be sadly missed by many people. She was always willing to talk and to share.

    Condolence From: Beverly Durham
    Farwell Ruby,
You were a fine woman and I will miss you very much and I will always remember your sweet smile. I will remember your last birthday when you were jumping party to party. You sure were enjoying yourself. Good for you old girl. I guess I’ll say good bye for now. Sincerely yours, Beverly Durham

What a pleasure to have known Ruby, Ruby stopped by quite frequently at My Sisters’ Place which is a Transitional Support Centre. Always friendly cheerful and a great pleasure to have. We recently celebrated Ruby’s 91st birthday and will always remember her packing her left over cake and putting it in her cart. We have a some beautiful pictures of Ruby and will always treasure them and Ruby. Ruby will now be able to take her well deserved rest. Our Deepest Condolences to the Church family. From the Staff and women at My Sisters’ Place-Transitional Support Centre

Condolence From: Mark and Frances Whiston
We have lived across the street from Ruby for 22 years. A very interesting person indeed. It will not be the same on Byron Ave with Ruby gone. Whether pushing a shopping cart or a stroller, she was a fixture in this neighbourhood. Not many people her age could cover the number of kilometers on foot that she did on a daily basis. Although she may have slowed her step in the past few years, she remained bright and alert til the end. Our four daughters all grew up knowing Ruby, and many an interesting conversation took place on her front porch. She was always on the go and finally she may take a rest. Ruby will be sorely missed. Our sincere condolences to the Church family.

    Condolence From: Kevin Kennelly
My friendship with Ruby began when I served as a Salvation Army Officer here in London. I was sad to here of her passing. She touched many lives here in London. I want to offer my condolences to her family.

Condolence From: Jack & Sandra Lunney
It was our privilege to meet Ruby a few years ago while volunteering at Ark Aid. Since that time Ruby had visited with us many times at our Ministry. Ruby was a sweet and gentle lady and always had a smile on her face. There were many good conversations and she always had so many interesting stories to tell. Ruby was very special to us and we will miss her. Her strength and courage were an inspiration to all who knew her. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.
    Sincerely,
    Jack & Sandra Lunney

As a former employee of Scotiabank in London, I remember Ms Church quite well. She was a frequent visitor to the branch where I worked. She was always pleasant and had something nice to say to me each time she was in for her banking business, or simply to sit and read the newspaper or spend some time resting. My condolences to her family , and may God take good care of her now. Sincerely, Renee Havers
