We are sorry that we were not able to be there with you all today to remember our wonderful sister, Marj. We share your sorrow as you say goodbye. Marj faced life’s challenges with grace…a major fire, caring for her mother through a long illness, being a working mother herself, and finally struggling through her own long illness. All the while, she shared her many gifts with us. Marj was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, She was an inspiring and caring teacher. She was a very good athlete and an active participant in the community. She provided countless perfect baked desserts to all her friends and family over the years. Thanksgiving memories will always include her incredible pumpkin pies. She always enjoyed all of our family gatherings. Although we will always miss her, she left us with hearts full of cherished memories.
    Love from Helen and Bill

I am sending my condolences to Mr. Charlton, the Charlton family and the O’Neil family on the loss of Mrs. Charlton. I was fortunate enough to have Mrs. Charlton as a teacher, some sixty years ago, at S.S.#6 London Township. Mrs. Charlton was an outstanding teacher – she not only taught the three r’s, but passed along many life skills through her anecdotes she shared with us. Mrs. Charlton ‘made a difference’ and continues to be my hero.
Let many wonderful memories sustain you at this sad time.
Sent with love and affection, Beth (Parker) Duff, Kingston Ontario.

Mrs. Charlton was certainly a well respected teacher during her teaching career and I’m sure had a positive impact on her many students. I also had the opportunity to work for a couple of summers with Mark at the Board Office many moons ago. We had some laughs and hopefully we’re a bit wiser now – certainly older.
All the best to the Charlton family.

Someone so special can never be forgotten.
Those we love don’t go away,

Mrs. Charlton was one of our children’s first teachers at Centennial Public School and she made the transition from city public school to country school very smooth. I still recall walking down the hall on our first visit and seeing cows through the doors at the end of the hall which was right outside her classroom It was something we sure didn’t experience in the city and something I have never forgotten…… She was impressive as she was very gentle, but firm. One of the first items she filled me in on was a packing a healthy lunch. No sweets! It encouraged healthy nutrition from the get go, quite remarkable I thought. Once our kids had graduated, if we bumped into Mrs. Charlton somewhere, she always took interest in how they were doing as well as what they were doing. We always enjoyed spotting her in the grocery store or at Philly’s. As we remember her fondly, we wish to express our deepest sympathies to the whole family. Warmly, Dawn and Franco Paron. Nicole, Amy and Brady were former Centennial students

I will always remember Mrs. Charlton to have been a dedicated teacher who was kind and caring and started off the early learning years on a positive note for our 2 children so many years ago at Centennial Central Public School. I still smile to think that one of the important subjects in her class was LUNCH BOX………No white bread or sugary snacks for the kiddies,If there was ……. a note came home! She was way ahead of her time with the value of nutrition. That was 30 years ago, and we still talk about it. Mrs .Charlton was a person who made a difference! Jackie Dewan…….. Jamie and Meagan former students.
