Our dear mother passed away to meet her Lord, at her residence on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 of Exeter and formerly of Crediton in her 85th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Ted Van Roestel (2003). Much loved mother of Marion Snow and Shawn Jeffery of Usborne Township, Roseanne and Brett Lavier of Tillsonburg, Jane and Gary MacLean of Exeter, John and Melissa Van Roestel of Lucan, Cathy and Jeff Musser of Exeter, Jacky and David Miller of Burlington, and Dan Van Roestel of Exeter. Dear grandmother of Shannon Snow and Janet Taylor, Stacey Snow and Jacob Jeffery; Jennifer and Roy Leung, Paul and Jennifer Lavier, Steve and Michelle Lavier; Jeff MacLean, Kim and Eric Targon, Michael MacLean; Rachel, Theo and Adrian Van Roestel; Carla and Cameron Musser; Sean, Riley and Jordon Taylor; and great-grandmother of Madeline Leung, Tyler, Ashlyn and Grace MacLean, and Carter and Travis Targon. Dear sister of Mary and Albert Vandenbogaard, Elisabeth Donkers, Hubert and Frances Kennes, Louie and Carol Kennes, Seline and Peter Visser and sister-in-law of Elizabeth Kennes. Predeceased by her brothers Joe Kennes and his wife Rachel, Harry Kennes and her brother-in-law John Donkers. Mom was a dedicated Christian and a wonderful role model who taught us the important values in life through her daily living example of grace.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, Exeter (1 street west of Main) on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Precious Blood Parish, 200 Sanders Street West, Exeter on Friday, November 23rd at 11 AM with Father Len Desjardins celebrant. Interment Exeter Cemetery. Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Thursday evening at 8:30 PM.
Donations to Community Living South Huron, Precious Blood Building Fund or VON Palliative Care Volunteer Program would be appreciated by the family.

I just wanted you all to know, how much we loved having your parents, and Danny as our neighbours in Crediton for so many years. We adored your parents, and couldn’t have asked for better people to be so near to us.
You’re mom, so often reminded me of my own mother,, so private, and quiet, and so spiritual. She was always so friendly, and happy, and always had a smile on her face when ever we saw her. I remember like it was yesterday, your dad and mom, having a hot drink, and a piece of cake, or whatever, at the end of every evening, on their front porch. She always seemed so content to be in her gardens, or behind the lawn mover, when ever your dad was away.
We miss them both so much, not having them near by. The opening in the trees where your dad always came through to visit, is now grown in with new branches from the ever greens he planted, But for many years, every time we looked at that opening, we expected him to come wandering through. And we have missed him greatly when that hasn’t happened.
Knowing that they are together again, gives me great comfort. What a grand reunion that must have been.
They were wonderful people, and have raised wonderful children, who very much remind me of them. I want you all to know you are in my thoughts during this difficult time, and you and your parents are in my prayers.
