At LHSC-Victoria Hospital, London on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 of RR 3 Ilderton in her 66th year. Beloved wife of Court Carmichael. Dear mother of James Carmichael and Rhonda Stark of London, Brent and Lorie Carmichael and Tracie Carmichael and Adam Smith all of RR 3 Ilderton. Dear grandmother of Jaelynne; Brienne, Caelan and Brendan; and Calvin. Dear daughter-in-law of Margaret Carmichael of London. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Dennis and Kathy Sharman of Binbrook, Doug and Jayne Carmichael of Kitchener, Lynn and Peter McClary of Arva, Ann and Larry Wong of Komoka. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Raymond and Joan Sharman, her father-in-law Calvin Carmichael, and her sister-in-law Ruth Sharman.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Friday, March 1st at 1:30 PM. Interment Medway Cemetery.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

I think back to so many encounters with Court, Sandy and the family via various Holstein club activities – Court a leader and mentor to many at those venues, Sandy the warm, gracious and supportive partner.

I was shocked and saddened today when I read the free press to find Sandy’s obituary. I roomed with Sandy while a nursing student at Chatham Public General Hospital School of Nursing. We became close friend during that year and I missed her dearly when she left. My late husband Allan Gardiner visited your farm once when I found her in the early 70’s but lost contact after that. After retiring I attempted to find her to make contact with no success.
Please except my sincere condolesence for the loss of a wife, mother and grandmother. I will remember her bashful smile and kind nature she always had.

Words cannot express the sadness we felt when hearing of Sandy’s death. Curling with Sandy Tuesday mornings and Friday mixed was always fun and as you know Court , Sandy & I had a special bond.
