BRINTNELL: R. Gerald (Gerry) of Exeter and formerly of Woodham

April 18, 2020 By Haskett Funeral Homes 116 Condolences

BRINTNELL: R. Gerald (Gerry) of Exeter and formerly of Woodham

Peacefully, with family by his side, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Friday, April 17, 2020 of Exeter and formerly of Woodham at age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (Rundle) Brintnell (1989). Dear father of Terri Brintnell of Bayfield, and Scott and Susan Brintnell of Exeter. Loving grandfather of Josh and Kirsten. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Marion and Bob Moulden of Dundas, Dorothy McGleish of Mississauga, Linda Brintnell of Woodham, Joan Brintnell of Peterborough and Larry and Jane Rundle of Woodham. Predeceased by brothers Lloyd and Barry, and brother-in-law Ken McGleish.

Gerald lived south of Woodham for 51 years. He was an active community member and established a well known construction business in the local area. Nine years ago he relocated to Exeter where he enjoyed having neighbours close by and family members too. He spent a great deal of his time watching his grandchildren participate in various sports activities and he took great pride in growing flowers that bloomed non-stop during the summer months.

A private family graveside service will be held at Kirkton Union Cemetery on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 11 AM. Although the service is private, please join the family from the comfort of your home, by streaming the service live by visiting  www.facebook.com/haskettfh/ (No account is required).

Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, South Huron Hospital Foundation or Stratford General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

The family wishes to thank all of the health care providers; the paramedics, staff in the emergency department and stroke recovery unit at Stratford General Hospital, as well as the staff at South Huron Hospital, for their care and compassion shown to dad and attending to his every need.

Our deepest sympathies to go out to the whole Brintnell family. We first met your dad and mom, when a few couples went to Las Vegas, thirty some years ago. Although we never kept in touch, and I probably never saw your dad again till he moved to Somertime Street. He was a great neighbor, and I would get to talk to him every time he walked by to get his mail.

Many warm thoughts come to mind with memories of Gerry in the community, business man and neighbour. He did the stamped concrete at our place which resulted in several random drop-ins of people driving by wanting to know about the work & who did it. Sincere sympathy to all the family as you travel the loss journey.
