Bert and Shirly were our next door neighbours for almost 25 years. They were like another set of grandparents to our kids. We will always remember Bert for the jokes he told us in the driveway. Years ago when he had a stroke it took about 9 months before the jokes returned…we were so happy when they did. Every once in a while he would repeat a joke. He would always say…did I tell you this one…we loved hearing it again. Bert always had a positive outlook and loved his family. He took great pride in his home and the many different bicycles he rode over the years. We watched him train on his last bike…electric bike…so he could leave our block and venture out to Tim Hortons or Huron Restaurant. Eventually it became a series of scooters. It’s comforting knowing Shirly and Bert are together and Bert made this world a better place, but…we sure will miss him.
So sorry to hear of Berts passing. We will miss him at the villa… won’t be the same there without him.Thinking of all his family and friends

I am sorry to hear of your loss . I was fortunate to have met your Lambert only a couple of times, each meeting was very memorable. A strong hand shake, gentle demeanor and a great sense of humor.
I fondly remember the last meeting where I was given a simple life lesson from him that I would like to share. When I offered my condolences to him at the loss of his wife I asked him “you were married for so many years, what is the secret to a long happy marriage”?
His response: ” when you choose a spouse you gotta be picky, make sure you pick a good one and everything else in life will be easy”……..I couldn’t Argue.
Joyce I miss you a ton, and know that this is hard. I want you all to know that I am here for you and you will all be in my mind, heart, thoughts and prayers.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your father. He was a good man and our family enjoyed getting to know him over the years. May he Rest In Peace and may you all have many opportunities to share what he meant to you and to remember him well.
