Dear PETA and family members. My sympathy extends to all of you as you grieve for John. It is difficult to say farewell to one you love and your loss seems overwhelming. While you are mourning however; others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil. Isn’t it wonderful to know that he is with the Lord.

Thinking of all of you during this difficult time. It was great to always see Uncle John and Tante Peta at the villa when visiting Grandpa. I will always remember the visit last winter when Jaden brought a homework assignment and Uncle John and Grandpa were both able to help her with this, she thought it was pretty cool that they knew so much about Holland.

My deepest condolences on the loss of your dad and grandpa. Although he was a quiet and gentle man who lived a simple life, he sure left a strong legacy and profound testimony to the power of integrity, faith, and humble work. Ora et Labora, pray and work, in that order while keeping a good sense of humor was clearly his motto. I’m sure he will be missed by you all but there is not a shred of doubt that he is now singing with that great voice in the choirs around God’s throne. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you say goodbye for now.
