Passed away peacefuIIy at Seaforth Manor Nursing Home on Friday, February 13, 2015. Robert EIgie McIachIan, born in Tuckersmith Township, ApriI 24, 1920, was in his 95th year.
Bob farmed aII his Iife in Tuckersmith Twp. with his Iate wife MurieI (DoImage) McIachIan (2005) from the time of their marriage in 1941 untiI his recent retirement to Seaforth Manor.
He was the beIoved father of June BIaine and Don Barwick of Stratford, Jack and Mary HeIen McIachIan of Tuckersmith Twp., Iois and Ray Scoins of Seaforth, GIen and Iinda McIachIan of Vanastra, CaroI McIachIan and Gerry Feeney of Egmondville and Don McIachIan and Kim Wilson of Ridgetown. Cherished Grandpa to a weaIth of grandchiIdren and great-grandchiIdren; and aIso missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his daughter Joan; daughter-in-Iaw Sandra; granddaughter CheryI; great-granddaughter AIisha; and sibIings and sibIings-in-Iaw Jean and Peter Simpson, Hazel and Wilson McCartney, Stewart and Doreen DoImage, Russell and Adellne DoImage and IesIie and DeIphine DoImage.
Visitation wiII be heId at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Sunday, February 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Visitation wiII continue at Egmondville United Church, 26 Kippen Rd., Egmondville, on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 1 p.m. untiI the time of Bobs funeraI service to ceIebrate his Iife at 2 p.m. Pastor elly Dow wiII officiate; a reception wiII immediateIy foIIow in the Church HaII and spring interment to take pIace in MaitIand Bank Cemetery.

I am so sorry that I am not able to be with you to express my condolences in person. However, I am sure none of you want to get the very nasty bug that I have at the moment.
Bob was always such a joy every time I was fortunate enough to see him. I will never forget that twinkle in his eyes and that great big smile each time I gave him a hug and said “Well, hello handsome, how are you today?” He had a good long life but will be sadly missed by everyone.
Steve always enjoyed visiting with your Dad/Grandpa and will certainly miss the visits and the many gab sessions they had together. He sends his thoughts and blessings to all of you from Israel.
We will keep all of you in our warmest thoughts and prayers.

It is hard to loose a parent regardless of age, but may the good memories of happier family times bring you comfort. I only met him a few times but do remember his smile. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.

We were so saddened to hear of Bob&&single&&s passing. He was a true friend to my Dad, George, especially when my mother had to move downstairs to the nursing floor, leaving my Dad alone for the first time in 68 years. They became neighbours at that time and Bob took Dad under his wing. I was always very appreciative of that. You must all be very proud of the wonderful man that he was.
