Dear Diane, Jenny, Lonny and family,
We are so sorry for your loss, we will all miss Glenn and remember him fondly. He always made those around him feel welcome and loved. I am with you both, wonderful Aunty Emm & sweet Jenny-Jenn, at this very difficult time. I so very much wish I could be there in person to support you and to attend Glenn’s memorial and service tomorrow (Sunday, Nov. 9th) but I will have to do with sending you my love and support from across the big lake.

It’s amazing to see that Glenn held on so long – he was in his 77th year!, considering his severe heart disease, and it’s only due to his diligence and discipline that he kept so very healthy so long. It sometimes made him boring (up soooo early every morning and to bed so early each night!) but the steady sleep rhythm and his daily walks along with good eating habits kept him slim and fit for many years.

As his niece, I felt he “softened up” over the years, began more and more to enjoy babies, kittens and the sweet, smaller things in life – and was even able to admit it sometimes! That’s having come a loooong way since having worked as a mechannic and assembly line worker and never letting on he had a soft side!

What an incredible memory he had, too, and thirst for knowledge. He experienced a lot of the world and kept up with the most advanced technology and news from his armchair every day. He wasn’t a world traveller in person but he still managed to “visit” and learn about many places and things by watching special tv reports and reading books with specific, technical information.

I spoke to Glenn on the phone briefly after Gary had passed away just a few months ago and had perhaps the longest phone conversation ever – around about 4 minutes! – with him. He was so sadened to have lost his older brother and good friend of so many, many a-year. My heart went out to him to hear the sorrow in his voice. I imagined how close he and Gary must have been over the years and felt glad for them both that they had such a good, strong relationship, especially near the end of their lives.

Glenn could sometimes be a real fart! – a stick in the mud, boring and sometimes say hurtful things that would shoot out of him in a flash – but he also had a very kind, loving side. And could laugh very, very heartily at a good joke, especially a practical joke. I will remember him with the soft, sweet smile he had (mainly when no one was looking!) if he was genuinely happy, touched or feeling love.

I love you guys so much!
I will think of you all, but especially Glenn, tomorrow.

    xoxox, Caralee

So very sorry to hear of Glenn’s passing. Glenn will be greatly missed by ourselves and the staff. He was a great organizer and a very valued member of the team. He was always there for us for the last 9 years. He was able to organize trips, make a snap decision and get the job done efficiently.

    We will always remember him
