ALLEN: Paul of Thorndale

October 26, 2023 By Haskett Funeral Homes 24 Condolences

ALLEN: Paul of Thorndale

As a result of an accident, Paul passed away at home on his farm on Monday, October 23, 2023 of Thorndale, at the age of 65. Proud dad of David and Melissa, and John and Holly. Cherished and loving Papa of Nolan, Logan; and Cohen. Beloved son of John and the late Margaret Allen. Sadly missed by his siblings; Rosemarie, Steve, the late Michael, Doug, Kimberley, and Johnna and their families.

Paul will be remembered for his love of anything nature and wildlife. Whether he was up north on a fishing trip with his buddies, raising a wild animal on the farm or spending time in the bush cutting firewood, Paul would be found outside enjoying the beauty that nature had to offer. He had a very creative mind and loved making the quirkiest things; from a Zamboni for an outdoor rink to a bird feeder made from a gourd. Paul always put everyone ahead of himself and would never say no to anyone. He was a dedicated employee of London Machinery for over 46 years and was loved by all his coworkers. Above all, Paul showed immense love for his family, especially his grandkids. He took in almost every sporting event of his kids and grandkids.

A come and go celebration of Paul’s life will be held at Purple Hill Country Hall, 20903 Purple Hill Road, THORNDALE on Sunday, October 29th from 3:30 – 6:30 PM. Wearing your favourite pair of crocs would be encouraged and appreciated! Cremation has taken place. In honour of Paul, enjoy a diet coke and share a story or a joke.

Donations to Algonquin Wildlife Research Station or Ronald McDonald House Southwestern Ontario would be appreciated by the family.

Paul was one of a kind. He was sitting in our home Sunday @ 5 PM paying for the beef he received earlier in Oct.. We both enjoyed his visits and stories of his conflict with wildlife stalking his game birds. He had to leave to herd his turkeys into the coop before dark. Even after a mink killed over 40 chickens , in one night , while being devastated he could not fault the mink for doing what comes naturally. What a man!

Our deepest sympathies to Paul’s family, he was one of a kind. We lucked out with the best neighbour anyone could have asked for. We often shared many laughs, schemed a little and enjoyed sharing baking. Paul always had the best stories and if you ever needed a tool, he had it! He was like a Grandpa to the kids, always having special treats for them and giving them a few jobs here and there. We’re going to miss our neighbourly waves we did every day but your memories will be ever lasting.
