Peacefully at the South Huron Hospital on Monday, November 1, 2021 of Exeter and formerly of Brucefield in his 91st year. Loving husband of Eunice (Smith) Aikenhead. Dear father of Deborah Ferguson (Bill Weiss) of Exeter and Jack Aikenhead (Patty Murray) of Hensall, and the late Kenneth James (1987). Dear papa of Kristin and Kris McCann of Grand Bend, and proud great-grandpa of Lyla and Axl. Dear brother of Olive Broadfoot of Brucefield, and brother-in-law of Richard Hunt of London. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Reta (Harrison) Aikenhead, sisters Elizabeth Collins, Joyce Willert, Amy Hunt, brother Bill Aikenhead, and son-in-law Ron Ferguson. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at the South Huron Recreation Centre, 94 Victoria Street East, Exeter on Thursday, November 4th at 11 AM. Please arrive between 10:00 – 10:30 AM. Due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, each person must RSVP for the service, please click “Register Now” below to register. It is also asked that due to Provincial COVID-19 proof of vaccination restrictions, each person must show proof that they are fully vaccinated to attend the recreation centre. Proof of vaccination can be attained by visiting covid19.ontariohealth.ca. If you are unable to attend the service in person the family invites you to join with them from the comfort of your home. Cremation with a private interment at Bairds Cemetery, Varna. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter (519-235-1220).
