At Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich on Thursday, May 26, 2016, Darl (Henry) Rau of Zurich, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Tillie (Denomme) Rau. Dear father of Janet and Chris Brown, and Julie and Doug Debus all of Zurich, Joyce and Kevin Cole, and Janine Pridham and Murray all of Tillsonburg, and Darryl and Kim Rau of Zurich. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Jean Geoffrey of Zurich, and Toinette Taylor of London. Loving brother-in-law of Joe and Marlene Denomme of Kitchener, George (Kizan) and Annette Denomme of Detroit, Marion Denomme of Kitchener, Peter and Gisele Denomme of Kitchener, Yvonne and Michael Hartman of London, Patsy Rau of Zurich, Donna Rau of Brantford, and Harold Denomme of Michigan. Predeceased by his siblings Pat, Andy, Theresa Masse, Madeline Denomme, Tony and Joe. Darl’s faith and family were very important to him. He also loved his work on the farm and in construction.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 49 Goshen Street North, Zurich on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 PM. (For those travelling a distance and unable to attend visitation on Sunday, visitation at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, 22 Mary Street, Zurich on Monday morning from 10:00 – 10:45 AM). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, 22 Mary Street, Zurich on Monday, May 30th at 11 AM with Father Matthew George presiding. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery, St. Joseph.
Donations to the Alzheimer Society or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
