ARMSTRONG: Lois M. (Sweitzer) of Exeter

Peacefully, at the Exeter Villa on Saturday, April 16, 2016 Lois. M (Sweitzer) Armstrong in her 89th year.  Loved wife of Irvine (Irv) Armstrong of Exeter for over 67 years.  Dear mother and mother-in-law of Paul and Linda Armstrong of London, Peter and Eleanor Armstrong and Bill and Linda Armstrong all of Exeter.  Lovingly remembered by her grandsons Ben, Ryan, Brent, Chris and Scott and her great-grandchildren Lauren, Jayden, Madison, Brayden, and Brynlee.  Dear sister and sister-in-law of Jim and Fran Sweitzer of London.  Predeceased by her parents Aaron (Jake) and Viola Sweitzer and her brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Claudette Sweitzer.  In 1986 Lois and Irv were honoured with the ‘citizen of the year’ award for the town of Exeter.  For 10 years Lois enjoyed hosting bus trips throughout Canada and the U.S.A.  She was a charter member of the Exeter United Church women, past-president of the Exeter Kinette Club,  and a member of the curling club.  Lois also taught sewing for 10 years at night school in Exeter.

Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, one west of Main, Exeter on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 20th at 11 AM with Bob Heywood officiating. Cremation with interment Exeter Cemetery.

Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Exeter United Church would be appreciated by the family.

Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
