Passed away suddenly at Seaforth Community Hospital on Monday, September 16, 2024 at the age of 67. Beloved husband of Ann (Janmaat) Cronin for 42 years. Cherished father of Brent Cronin (Kate), Jamie Cronin (Shay), Melanie Denys (Jason), and Kevin Cronin (Kristina). Adored grandfather of Henry, Hannah, Joe, Audrey; Phoebe, Tilly, Lucy, Charlie; Ryan, Hayden, Ben; Hailie, and Olivia. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Karen Ryan (Gerry), Wayne Cronin (Melita), Dale Cronin (Susan), Luke Janmaat (Bonnie), Ken Janmaat (Deb), Mary Johnston (Dan), John Janmaat, Ted Janmaat (Mary Anne), Joan Bridge (Scott), Ron Janmaat (Colleen), and Paul Janmaat (Lori). Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Delaine (Denomme) Cronin, parents-in-law John and Mary (Van Dyk) Janmaat and his dear uncle Frank Cronin.
Gary dedicated his life to the trucking industry and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, where he volunteered much of his free time to the community. Known for his selflessness, Gary always put others before himself, never missing an important event for his children and grandchildren. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like spending time at the barn, cutting the lawn, and, of course, enjoying a cold beer. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth on Thursday, September 19th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM.
Gary’s Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 22 Victoria Street, Seaforth the following day on Friday, September 20th at 11 AM. Interment at St. Columban Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Donations to Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).
