Suddenly on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the age of 48, Shelly was called home to be reunited with her daughter Cora (1993). Survived and forever adored by her husband Justin Johnston of Exeter, sons Buddy (Kase) Webster of Manitoba and Mitchell Webster of Exeter, and her three grandchildren, Aiden, Mia, and Astrid. Who she loved more than life itself. She doted on them and cherished every minute they spent together. From the time they were born they brought so much joy to her life. Dear daughter of Wendy and the late Ron Gregoire (2011) of Exeter. Survived by her sister Gillian (Jason) Potter of Clinton and second mother and special friend Sara Logan. Fondly remembered by her niece and nephews, Austin, Anthony (Jason), Brodie English; Ashley Lavis (Ryan Bushfield), Justice, and Kobi Potter. Predeceased by her brother Trevor English (2008) of Exeter and her grandparents Janet (Smith) and Clayton Reading.

In her younger years, Shelly loved swimming, music and helping as a candy striper at the Exeter Public Hospital. She absolutely adored all animals and was never without a fur friend that she could cuddle and love, especially her dog Zooka. Shelly was such a great conversationalist and loved having long talks with whomever she met. Friends will remember her infectious laugh, quick wit, sass, and sense of humor. She was always there to lend help to a friend in need and could always be counted on. For many years Shelly enjoyed being part of the Pentacostal Church Family and for a time, enjoyed volunteering at Noah’s Ark and soup kitchen. Above anything else, Shelly was an incredibly loving grandmother.

In keeping with Shelly’s wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter (519-235-1220).

A celebration of Shelly’s life will be held at McNaughton Park in Exeter on June 10th from 1 – 4 PM with words of remembrance at 2 PM. All are welcome and to honour Shelly, please wear pink or purple, her favourite colours. It will be a potluck, so please feel free to bring your favourite foods to share amongst friends. 

Donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

My heart breaks for you, I can’t imagine the pain of losing a daughter. and I wish life had been kinder to you, and that Shelly could have been with you yet for years to come. Pain free. Gillian, you have had to endure losing a brother, and now, you have to suffer the pain of losing your sister. Life just doesn’t seem fair for some people. I am so sorry you have to go through this. Justin, not having your wife by your side, to laugh with, to talk things through with, and yes, to even argue with, as most married people do sometimes. It is going to be so tough. I know you have lots of memories of your happy times with Shelly, and maybe not right now, but later on, they will help you through this incredibly sad time. Shelly was one straight up gal, who said what she thought, whether you agreed with her or not. She always spoke her mind, and I for one, appreciated her honesty. She is going to be missed by so many, especially by her children, and family, and friends. I am sure she will be keeping the angels in stitches now, and she will be the first one up there to ask them if there is anything she can do to help out. Hugs to you all…
