MEDD: Leo A. of Seaforth

July 11, 2022 By Haskett Funeral Home 111 Condolences

MEDD: Leo A. of Seaforth

After a courageous battle with cancer, in his 75th year, Leo left us peacefully with his family by his side at Jessica’s House in Exeter on July 8, 2022. Beloved husband, soulmate, rock and best friend of Sharon Medd for over 54 years. Loved Dad of Jeff (Sandy), Julie Campbell (Mike), Barry and Stephen (Bailey).  Adored Grandpa of Jarod & Brady Medd and Ashley, Courtney, Ryan & Owen Campbell.

Cherished brother of Marj Hardy (Jim), Morris (Beckie), Pat Armstrong (Jack) and Denis (Marg Miller). Dear Brother-in-law of Margaret Medd, Irene Hotson and Joyce Pepper (Cecil).

Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, the guys in the shop and his pups, Molly & Annie.

Predeceased by his parents Lloyd & Elizabeth Medd, Brother Bill Medd, Sisters Anna & Mike Laudenbach and Marilyn & Joe Williams, Mother-in-law Gladys Whittaker and In-laws Florence, Lorne, Ross and John Hotson.

Leo was a very gentle man that was all heart and soul.  He was an avid car lover with a vision no one else could see till he created stunning classic cars. He spent many miles on the road finding his treasures. His witty jokes and great sense of humour were just as classic as his cars.  He had an extra large following of friends, employees and customers across the country always calling for his expertise on cars. Leo was a proud supporter of the Hot Rods of Huron.

His greatest love of all was his family and especially the grandchildren. He supported everything they do from ringette games to tri-athlons to hockey games to baseball games. He cherished teaching grandkids how to swim and time spent with them on ice cream trips in the classic convertibles.

In honour of Leo’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Homes, SEAFORTH.

Donations in Leo’s memory to Jessica’s House, Exeter, ON or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Sending my sympathy to you Sharon and family and families in the passing of Leo. He was a nice guy who had a smile and a laugh to follow. He had many shops and garages to work on cars. Even a couple of car washes to keep them clean. The young lads from the surrounding area would come and admire what Leo had on the lot to sell .Could have been a Comaro. Chevelle.Corvette.Nova to name a few. Next thing you know the car is Sold. Leo has another car Sold better get another one to take its place. He was a salesman. Always looking ,always buying. always working Leo will be missed.

I look back 65-70 years and remember the times Leo and I would walk across the fields to visit one another so we could spend a couple hours fishing or biking. We spent a lot of time visiting as we were only a short distance apart. As we got older we’d tour out some weekends and do just nothing but have fun, laugh and maybe play a few pranks on neighbors. Leo always had a great smile and an instant laugh. Our paths, as most, strayed apart as we followed different ventures and different experiences in life. Leo was always a great guy to visit with as he always had me chuckling. Sharon and I would like to give our condolences to all of the family and say how lucky we all were to have had the privilege of know such a nice guy as Leo.
