September 14, 2021 By Haskett Funeral Homes 54 Condolences

PETERSON: Karen Irene of Lobo

Passed away peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Monday, September 13, 2021 of Lobo, at the age of 59. Cherished daughter of Donna (Noyes) and the late Ken Peterson (2002). Dearest sister of Marilyn and Carl Haines, and Mary Peterson and Rob Essery. Proud aunt of Gordon Haines, Christa and Ron Sheridan, Tracy and Arthur van Gameren, and Jason Essery.

Karen loved life out in the country and being on the farm. She will be remembered for her love of all animals, especially raising her Angus cattle and horses. Karen will be sorely missed by her dog Mykah, and her horses Aries, Czoe, and Dan.

The family wishes to thank Andrew and Hayley, the VON for their ongoing care, the staff at the LHSC Cancer Clinic, the staff at Foodland in Komoka, and all of her friends and family for their support, care and compassion.

Keeping with Karen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Cemetery on Saturday, September 18th at 10 AM.

Donations to VON Elgin Middlesex, or the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation.

Donna and Family. Was so sad to read the news of Karen. We moved away from Arva many years ago but think of Karen frequently. I was trying to reconnect with her and hopefully visit this summer. It was our love of horses that brought us together and contributed to many good times.
Please know that we feel your sadness and loss.
    Sincerely
Betty, Larry, Tamara and Amy Nicholson

Aunt Donna, as we talked the other night and shared stories of Karen, I remembered so many fun times and laughter with you and Karen. She had such a love and passion for the farm, her cows, horses and Myka I enjoyed the comical stories she shared with me about her animals. She had a sense of humour like no other but also a passion for life and nature many of us could learn from. Even as we shared messages these last few months she continued to share funny things about her “animal” family. Karen will be truly missed by all those whose lives she touched and truly loved her. Our love, sympathy and prayers to you, Marilyn and Carl, Mary and Rob and families. Karen’s generosity, compassion and love of life was a quality we should all share in this world Love Doug and Kathy
