    Hello Bonnie and Family:

I was so saddened to hear of Norm’s passing. My deepest sympathy to you all. He was a great person and a great Uncle.

There is a saying that comes to mind “still waters run deep” and that is fitting of Norm. He was quiet but gentle.

I can still picture him standing outside the ole pool hall in St. Marys (many years ago). Growing up, he was more like a big older brother to me and my siblings. He’d wrestle the daylights out of my 2 brothers and make them plea for help, forcing them to say “Uncle” before releasing them. He was the only one that ever called me “Kate” and I liked it. Years later while visiting Bonnie and Norm in Lucan, I casually mentioned how I liked his Dog “Copper”. He told me I could have him. I thought he was joking but he was serious. He must of known I needed a little pooch to love.

I was very touched by the service today. It was beautiful and thank you Daryll for a fitting tribute. He has a large family and many were loved by him and loved him. One thing I’ve learned over the years and with the losses I have experienced is this … You never stop loving them.

I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time and in the days ahead.

    Sincerely,

    Kate

    Bye (for now) Norm xo

I missed “Uncle” Norm so much over the years, even greater today. The time we had when I was growing up meant so much to me. Always a positive influence, fun and happy times. Bonnie and family, I wish you all the best, you’ll continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Love always

Dear Aunt Bonnie and family – it was a privilege to be able to watch the service today and be with your family even though we were distanced. It was a lovely tribute. I remember Uncle Norm as being a quiet but content man and when I close my eyes I see him sitting in “Norms chair” in the kitchen (and boy don’t try to sit there!), drinking coffee, and smiling, (with the odd smart comment coming out if he thought you said something stupid – haha).

    Love to all,
    xo

    Bonnie and family,
I am sorry to hear of Norm’s passing. I enjoyed many coffee-time debates during my time working with him in Lucan. He was a man of great conviction who was always willing to share his advice, and I respected that. My thoughts go to you and your family.

    Bonnie,

When I think of Norm, I automatically think of our water fights while washing dishes at catering. We also had a lot of chats with all the time I spent at the arena over the years. You both have a big place in my heart and are in many good memories. He will be missed. My sympathies to you and your family.

I am heartbroken to hear this news. Norm had a great heart and was a mentor and colleague to me when I started in the arena. I will miss having coffees and conversations with him and his laugh overall. He dedicated so much to the arena and got to watch so many of the now adults in our community grow up. My thoughts go out to Bonnie and family through this tough time. he was a strong kind man and the loss of his presence at the Lucan arena will be felt for a long time.
