Suddenly at his home, on Thursday, April 23, 2020 of Goderich formerly of Hensall at the age of 27. Cherished fiancé and best friend of Kourtney MacDonald-Webster for over 2 years. Proud father of Hannah Kuranyi, Skylarr MacDonald-Webster, Autumn Kuranyi, and Memphis Kuranyi. Adored son of Craig and Andrea (Pearce) Alexander, and son-in-law of Melanie MacDonald, and Bill and Donna Webster. Loved brother of Luke Alexander and Sam Sutherland of Hensall. Dear brother-in-law of Shawn Webster of Chalk River, and Chris MacDonald of Huron Park. Missed by his grandparents Lorraine and the late Bev Alexander of Exeter, and Nancy and Wayne Pearce of Exeter. Garrett will be missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Predeceased by his uncle and best friend Steve Pearce.
Garrett was an avid outdoorsmen, he loved hunting, fishing, and sports. In his spare time he would often be found in the bush with Kourtney and the kids, looking for animal tracks, antler sheds, or trying to source out a new fishing hole. Garrett will be sadly missed by his friends and coworkers at General Coach Canada.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Exeter Cemetery on Tuesday, April 28th at 2 PM. Although the service is private, please join the family from the comfort of your home, by streaming the service live by visiting https://www.facebook.com/haskettfh/ (No account is required). A public celebration of life will be held in the future when family and friends are able to gather and share love, support and hugs.

Garrett and I were not close, although we were friends. Throughout high school we had passed each other through friend groups and eventually ended up curling together. Garrett was a man of the people, he could be friends with anyone. What I remember most about Garrett was his kindness, there was not a pretentious bone in his body, he was able to meet people on their level. I wasn’t popular in high school (and I currently hold no claims to any title similar to that) but Garrett was the kind of person who made you feel accepted, he tried to bring people together and didn’t care who saw him try. It’s said that you can judge a man by what he does when no one is watching; but I say the opposite is just as true if not more so. Garrett did what he believed to be right regardless of what other people thought. Garrett was kind when people were watching and when they weren’t. He helped an outcast like myself feel accepted when they didn’t believe it themselves. My heart is heavier today at the word of his passing, Garrett was a good man and will be missed sorely. I am sorry to hear of his passing and my heart is with you all.
